I've been a photographer since my mid-teens growing up in New York City. I minored in Fine Arts in college so that I could have a greater understanding of the ways in which different types and styles of art could influence my photography.
These days my specialty is people. I've studied with some leading portraitists and lighting masters to achieve my Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman recognitions from Professional Photographers of America. I constantly work with both professional and volunteer models to experiment and evolve. I love what I do. Working with people - infinitely interesting and varied people - is such a joy!

I participate in a variety of communities for dance and fine art photography. I study the work of others for understanding and inspiration.
I'm a studio photographer. Lighting is one of my main tools. I have a variety of lights and light modifiers to enable me to create different moods and impressions. In addition I am an expert in the use of Photoshop to retouch, edit, modify, and paint my images.
I participated in my first juried competition around 10 years ago and won. That was a big deal for me at the time. Since then I have become a Photographic Craftsman, Master of Photography, Grand Imaging Awards Finalist, Fellow of the Texas Professional Photographers Association, and on the executive leadership teams of several local, state, and national bodies.
